My formal education and training began at the university level where I studied fine art and earned my degrees in both art and education. I specialized in two-dimensional painting and three-dimensional ceramics. I have taught art at every level from preschool to college, and believe that children and young adults always benefit from the engaging process of creating their own art. My areas of expertise are most often focused on subjects within nature. That is because I am inspired by the design and beauty of the world God created for us all.

Since I was a child, I've been attracted to the messy, squishy dirt we call clay. Nothing can come close to taking a raw material from the earth and creating an object that can be both functional and beautiful. The possibilities are endless and the journey to transform inspiration from the natural world into something permanent will always steer me into my studio.
